Guest Skating

Approval and payment for guest skating must be obtained prior to the skater stepping on the ice.  Approval will be given by a Board member and is at the Boards discretion.  Skaters can only guest skate on a session for which they are qualified.  Please note the session type when asking to guest skate (ie open, freeskate, dance/skills).

The cost for guest skating is $30.00 per session for our regular winter season.  Rates may change for off-season schools.  Skaters must pay for the ENTIRE session.  This is a privilege DO NOT abuse it.  Skaters who do not obtain prior approval may not be granted future permission to guest skate.  If payment for guest skating is not made, skaters will not be allowed to participate in the Test Days until payment has been made in full.

For guest skating approval, contact a member of the Board of Directors.

Ticket Ice

Regular designated ticket ice is no longer available at any of the City of Peterborough arenas.  If a skater/coach requires additional ice time, the following process must be followed.

  • The skater/coach must call the arena to find out the availability of ice during non-prime times.
  • The skater/coach books the ice under THEIR NAME – NOT THE CLUB.  Payment for the ice is the responsibility of the individual that booked the ice.

Note:  an individual is classified as either skater, coach, or instructor (ie if there is one skater and one coach this counts as two individuals).

If a skater and/or coach wants to book ticket ice, it is his/her responsibility to find additional skaters/coaches to share the costs.  Only Skate Canada registered skaters and coaches will be allowed on the ice.

Music Rules / Duties

MUSIC RULES
In order to ensure all skaters and/or coaches get a fair opportunity to have music played for either freeskate, dance, skills, and interpretive, a new set of music rules will be developed and posted on this website.  The rules will be kept in the music binder at the club.

MUSIC DUTIES
All parents of skaters registered within the club for Intermediate/Senior sessions (except Board Members) will be required to play music.  If you are not available to play music on the days/dates assigned to you, it is your responsibility to find an alternate.  The number of times you will play music will be determined by the number of skaters registered on that session.  Board members are exempt from playing music due to the fact that they already contribute numerous volunteer hours to the club.
Failure to play music on your assigned session, can result in your skater not being allowed to participate in club events.

Our club operates on a volunteer basis to try and keep our costs as low as possible.  If everyone helps a little, we can achieve a lot!
